This world is full of great surprises some are natural amazing gifts for human being while some have been constructed by human itself to prove the capability of human being. These wonderful structures enlisted on the lists of wonder of the world. Some of these wonderful and amazing structures still exist while some doesn’t. Here is a list that were compiled by a traveler name Howard Hillman, he wrote a book containing information about wonders of the world and the most visited places of the world:
Teotihuacan:
On the bay of Mexico there is a string of pyramids design structures that are known as Teotihuacan. It is believed that this amazing structure was built during the pre-Columbian era. This wondering place comprises of residential buildings, murals and pyramids. Historian believes that this mega structure was a city with 100, 000 individuals.
Karnak Temple:
This amazing piece of construction lies near Luxor, Egypt. It is consisted on a series of temples, chapels and buildings. It is believed that this structure was built after 16th century BC. This temple represents the story of the development of Thebes.
Bagan Temples & Pagodas:
This great and amazing structure is located in Burma as a city of Bagan. It had been the epicenter of the ancient civilization. Currently, many temples and pagodas are in bad condition and they need to be repaired but the major hurdle is the refusal of Burmese military that refused to include the Bagan in the list of World Heritage Site of UNESCO. Many pagodas have been repaired with the materials that don’t give the resemblance look like the original material.
Forbidden City:
This city is located in Beijing, China it is the most frequently visited place in Beijing, China. It was constructed during the early 1400s. Currently this city consisted on a string of 980 buildings and it covers an area of 7.8 million square ft of land. Many buildings are under the control of Palace Museum but still there are some buildings that are being used by the Chinese government. This amazing city contains the incredible and amazing artwork that was collected throughout the Qing and Ming dynasties and this city tells so much about the history of China.
Angkor Wat:
Angkor Wat is located in Cambodia and for many years it has been the capital of Cambodia. Even after it’s abandoned it is a significant religious place in Cambodia. It was constructed in the beginning of 12th century by King Suryavarman II. The image of this temple is included on the national flag of Cambodia.
Bali:
Bali is the popular island of Indonesia and it is popular all over the world. The majority oh Hindu population of Indonesia lives in Bali. It is known for the artwork, cultural happenings and attractions and music.
Machu Picchu:
Machu Picchu is located in Urumbamba Valley, Peru. This structure is believed to be built by Inca before Columbian. It was used for about hundred years by the Inca rulers. After the end of the rule of Inca this site was abandoned and did not used by anyone until 1911. But there is a document evidence according to which it was rediscovered in the year 1847.
Taj Mahal:
Taj Mahal is a momentum of eternal love and it was built in the memory and love of Mumtaz Mahal the wife of Emperor Shah Jahan. Taj Mahal located in Agra, India and it is one of the 8 wonders of the world. It is the most frequently visited place in India and great attraction for tourists. It is a great combination of Persian; Indian and Islamic style of construction and it is the great representation of Mughal Era.
Great Wall of China:
The Great Wall of China is the one that can be located and viewed from the moon. It is a series of walls that are running across the northern border of china. It was actually built to protect China from the outside invasion. According to the most recent studies this wall is about 5,500 miles long in length.
Giza Pyramid Complex:
This complex is located outside the Cairo, Egypt. Egypt is usually called as the Giza Necropolis. There is a great collection of pyramids of Giza. This is the only one among the seven wonders of the ancient world that still exists to date in its original form. This complex contains the pyramid of Khufu, the pyramid of Khafre, the pyramid of Menkaure etc.
