Two days to go in Tower Hamlets

There are two days to go in Tower Hamlets and with Ken being Ken, Labour are pouring resources into the borough in a desperate bid to hand the £1billion budget to Helel Abbas a declared bankrupt.

While some like Sunny say Ken was wrong to declare for Lutfur I disagree. Ken is Ken and a large reason for his considerable support comes from Independents fed up of professional politicians and weather cocks who wait for the latest opinion poll before tipping their toe in the water and making a decision.

I've lived in London all my life and there has always been a radical tinge to our politics which makes us the great city we are. Love him or loathe him you know where you stand with consistent Ken unlike the ghastly Oona King who would wait for her handlers permission at Labour HQ before expressing an opinion.

When Ken let rip at the Jewish journalist stalking him and fought the British Board of Deputies of Jews who wanted an apology most of us in London knew what the agenda of Ken's powerful enemies were.

Sunny is right, any move against Ken would almost certainly lead to a bitter civil war and delight the Israelites stirring the pot. Frankly the situation in Tower Hamlets has little to do with democracy its more stark the issue is about a choice between an Independent Muslim candidate Lutfur Rahman or a bankrupt and a puppet on a string Helal Abbas.

Sadly in a week when the London tube has virtually collapsed thanks to Boris and with massive public spending cuts being announced by the Con Dems, idiots in Labour's NEC with help from the snake Rusharnara Ali have managed to almost snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in this Tower Hamlets debacle.
