US Judge suspends Oklahoma Sharia law ban

A US Judge has prevented Oklahoma from implementing a constitutional amendment that would have had the effect of banning a US court from considering Islamic Sharia law which I have highlighted previously.

LM welcomes the judgement that protects the first amendment rights of Muslims and believe this excellent article by Michael Gerson superbly sums up the situation when he describes the proposed Oklahoma State 755 question as an attempt to taunt Muslims.

Sadly because of the continued aggressive Islamophobic narrative Sikhs in the USA are becoming the victims of unintended consequences as this case highlights where a Sikh cabbie was brutally beaten while apparently being mistaken for a Muslim.
